Teaching methods of preparation to CCE exam on B1 level for bilingual students

In this diploma thesis, we present a methodological approach for the preparation of bilingual children attending the Czech School without Borders in London (CSWBL), with a specific focus on preparing them for the B1 level exam organized by the UK's UJOP workplace. The theoretical part of the thesis begins by providing an overview of CSWBL, including a brief history of its operation. Subsequently, we offer a definition of the term bilingualism. A particular emphasis is placed on the unique aspects of teaching Czech to bilingual pupils residing in London. This serves as a crucial foundation for the practical segment of the thesis, aiming to acquaint the reader with CSWBL, elucidate the concept of bilingualism, and delineate the specific challenges associated with teaching bilingual children residing outside the Czech Republic. Given the current absence of textbooks tailored for teaching bilingual students, our objective in the practical part is to create teaching materials for the eighth grade, aligning with the students' needs. Challenges of integration of foreign pupils at primary schools

This thesis deals with the theme of integration and education of foreign pupils at primary schools. Further, it presents the findings which are connected with this theme. It focuses on classification of challenges and problems which can occur when the pupil starts to attend a school in a foreign country, and tries to find possible solutions and preventive measures as well. It has been confirmed that teachers see positive contribution of a foreign pupil in the class but they also admit and express concerns about insufficient preparedness and the lack of materials for work with the foreign pupils. The empirical part of this paper analyses three case studies which have been made thanks to observation of the foreign pupils and thanks to interviews with their class teachers. This part also concerns with teachers' opinions and their view of the challenges that are brought up by the presence a foreign pupil. The outcome of the thesis is a set of sample work sheets intended for foreign pupils. These worksheets are compatible with the textbooks for teaching Czech language which are commonly used at primary schools. Speech development in children growing up in a bilingual environment

A n o t a t i o n This thesis deals with the development of speech in children growing up in a bilingual environment. The aim is to explain the basic concepts related to bilingualism, describe in detail strategies of bilingual education and describe the specifics of speech development of children growing up in a bilingual environment. I would like to broaden the community understanding about bilingualism and summarize new ideas and information for parents who are considering a bilingual or multilingual education. Theoretical knowledge is used in the practical part of this thesis, which examines and compares the differences in the speech development of children growing up with two or more languages against children who grow up with only one mother tongue.
Education students-foreigners at Czech primary schools

The thesis is focused on several areas related to the education of foreigners in primary schools. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on particular areas of children bilingualism and multicultural education. The legislative framework and the statistics of foreigners in the Czech Republic, which is closely related to the area is deeply analyzed. The last chapter discussed options and recommendations to assist the integration of foreign pupils in primary schools. The research part of the thesis deals with the approaches and experience of teachers with education of pupils-foreigners, the relationship with the children-foreigners to the particular school in the Czech Republic and their level of Czech language and attitude towards it. Characteristics of the Czech language of Russian students(with a focus on selected phonetic and morphosyntactic phenomena)

Language adaptation of foreigners is always accompanied by a number of problems connected to the acquisition and the use of the language which becomes the primary communicative tool in the new environment. Ignoring and underestimating these problems typical of a particular language community can result in a failure to master the target language and consequently in the unsuccessful integration in the new society. This thesis is aimed at specific problems in the area of morphosyntax and phonetics, characteristic of Russian-speaking students of Czech. At the same time, it warns about the danger of overestimating positive transfer from Russian and emphasizes the necessity of using special didactic approach in teaching this group of foreign-language speakers. The analysis of the chosen language phenomena is based on the data from the Database of the voice recordings of spoken Czech by native speakers of Russian and the Database of language mistakes in Czech made by speakers whose native language is another Slavic language, which were created, among others, for the purpose of this thesis. Bilingualism and its manifestation in various culturally lingual communities

The present thesis mainly deals with bilingualism in adults, comming from Eastern Europe, mainly from Ukraine and Belarus. The main contribution of this work is the analysis of the questionnaires, which I filled my respondents who belong to the status of educated people. Thanks expected, interesting and even original answers reader to better inform and understand the language situation that is occurring in the area of East. In this work, the reader can gain a lot of interesting findings, which are not met. I focus on the further question of how many there are bilingual people who speak two languages at the level of the mother tongue. The theoretical part deals with the process of learning and language acquisition. Furthermore, I turn attention to the concept of bilingualism, which has become in recent decades literally phenomenon. Equally important are the types of bilingualism, with which it is associated bilingual different types of companies and types of bilingual families. Finally, I will outline the benefits of bilingual education. In the practical part, deals with adult bilinguists of southwestern Ukraine and Belarus. Integration of Foreign Student into a Primary Education

This thesis deals with the inclusion and integration of pupils with a different mother tongue in Czech elementary schools and point to the readiness of Czech schools and teachers for the integration of these pupils. The theoretical part is mainly focused on describing the best practices of integration and inclusion of pupils with a different mother tongue. In the empirical part are processed data from observations of lessons, interviews with teachers, educational consultant, school principals and interviews and published case studies of students with a different mother tongue. Research case study approach is the inclusion of pupils with a different mother tongue and the questionnaire.
